Whoa! Where did the Summer Go?

Well I guess you could say I haven't been keeping this very up to date.  Yup of course I've been busy... still working on several quilts at the same time .. in between summer travels.  I really haven't been home but to pack up for the next!  Enjoyed visiting with my sons but they just live too far away.
The Guild Quilt show is coming up and I have little to contribute for the first time since I joined.  Hope to finish previous mentioned quilts sometime this year at least! I have been working on some new techniques to enhance my quilt work using some of my drawings.
I have finally discovered silk screening!! A wonderful, however time consuming, technique that works well with my drawings.  I hope to be able to share a quilt using the technique someday soon.  This technique is working well with one of the quilts I have been working on.  Seems like I learn my best techniques when a problem spot in a quilt occurs, it does tend to slow things down a bit but really helps with inspiration.
Realistically unless I can get some work done here at home it will be a long time before  I actually finish anything!!  The big discussion  here is whether to take 2 more trips before the end of the year!!  It sounds like a lot of trips to me but who can say no to family!
So guess I'll let you know how things go when I finally finish something!
So heres to get r done time... Happy Quiltin'  B

Finally Quiltin' Again

It has been too long!! Have several quilt pieces falling into place... on the wall.. on the floor... here there everywhere!! Been working with several favorite photos my son took for his Quilt... hope to be done soon. Also working on one for my Daughter in law and a few little quilts that my head has required that I work on.  Lots to do and little time... I promise will post as soon as I can get-r-done!

Christmas is not over!

Yes! it is still the Holidays at our house.  So much going on with one son moving to Southern California for a great new job, and the other son coming home on leave from the Navy with his new wife. I am really looking forward to their arrival later this week. Thus it is still Christmas at our house!  I have several projects I will be working on again soon, it is just an extra special Christmas this year.  I promise to get back at it asap and let you see what I'm working on... 'till then Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Matisse

Just love the use of line and color in the work of Matisse.
Would love to create a quilt in this style using my own drawings.
Will let you know when that happens!
